2-7 March, 2014
Theme: Innovating for India

Day1: 2nd March, 2014
We at Jaipuria Jaipur began our entrepreneurship week journey with outreach programs. The students were quite enthused about the theme of E-week “Innovating for India”. They all unanimously felt that understanding problems at grass root level is fundamentally important to innovate. The young brigade of 43 students and Dr. S.K. Pandey along with CSR team member Mr. Prakash Sharma explored the day long visit to the field.
Event 3: Interaction with Micro Vendor Salim Bhai
Salim Bhai (Sodaspura, Tonk Road)
Time: 11.55 AM – 12.10 PM
The student’s team interacted with a micro vendor Mr. Salim Bhai. He is owner of a, small shop of decorative items and he also keeps few Woolen clothes like scarves. His business is in existence since past 10 years. He is the single earning member in his family of 10 members. His shop is not approved by Government. Having a quality of life and earning enough for upkeep of entire family for him was tough for him.
Students probed him, and asked lot of questions from him. Student’s team identified small problem area and changes that can be done to make his business more fruitful. They also suggested him to get the shop approved so as to have a better future of his shop as well as his family. The changes to run the business was accepted him quite swiftly and he agreed to apply them in coming days. He also took number of some students, and said he will talk to them for some need. One of the students felt so good and said……..WOW this is what Mentor’s does for us…….And I did mentoring for someone today. The feeling of Proud was worth thousand dollars at that moment.
