2014) –Youth Festival
2-7 March, 2014
Theme: Innovating for India
Day1: 2nd March, 2014
We
at Jaipuria Jaipur began our entrepreneurship week journey with outreach
programs. The students were quite enthused about the theme of E-week
“Innovating for India”. They all unanimously felt that understanding problems
at grass root level is fundamentally important to innovate. The young brigade
of 43 students and Dr. S.K. Pandey along with CSR team member Mr. Prakash
Sharma explored the day long visit to the field.
Event 2: Nafiz & Vaidu (Tonk Road) / An
Interaction with Loha Brothers
Time: 11.15 AM – 11.45
AM
The
fascinating view of iron ore stuff lying on the sides of Tonk road can’t be
skipped by the people travel on the road. Students felt, we only have looked at
them; we never cared to stop and understand them. Lets do was the spirit…………..
Nafiz
and Vaidu brothers are the Banajaras and they were operating their business of
used building materials like iron doors, windows etc. They recycle, repair/renovate
the old items of iron & sell them again in the market.
A
Student Ujjwal Sharma said, we read the concept of Triple Bottom Line Approach
and 3R’s of Sustainability and they truly practice this in reality and making
money out of the same.
When
one of the students raised the question of illegal operations – they said, we
are not at all operating illegally; we pay so many time money to Police, police
stations, and JDA.
Students
team set with them, and made them understand the consequences and also talked
to them about how to make it legal and registering their business and agreed to
help them to do so.
